FAQs

  • Books are currently open.

To book in, please fill in the booking form under Book In. You can also send me a message on Instagram or Facebook. The more information you provide, the easier it will be to book you in.

Once I have received your message, I will send you some dates based on your preferred days along with any questions I have. When the date has been confirmed, a $100 booking fee is taken and the date is locked in for your appointment.

72 hours notice is required to reschedule and not incur a loss of booking fee. A new booking fee will be required to rebook if correct notice is not given or the appointment has been rescheduled more than once. Booking fees go towards the final cost of your tattoo and will be used on the last session. The booking fee may be used as a drawing fee for custom pieces over 3 hours. The booking fee is non-refundable in the event that I am unable to work due to illness etc. but will be carried forward to the rescheduled date.

*A booking fee is paid to secure the time allocated to complete the tattoo. If an appointment is cancelled/rescheduled, it covers a small fraction of the time put into preparations and loss of income. Please consider the terms and conditions of the booking fee carefully before booking in.

  • I charge $200/hr and the studio minimum is $150. I can give you a rough time estimate when booking but this can change for many reasons, which are impossible to predict ahead of time. These include placement on the body, detail and condition of the skin. Please let me know in the booking request if you have a set budget.

  • Payment is by cash, card or Afterpay.

To pay with Afterpay in the studio, download the Afterpay app and apply for the Afterpay card. This must be done ahead of time so you know your approved limit. Once approved, the card will appear in the digital wallet on your phone. You pay as you would using a debit card on your phone.

  • If you are over 18, not pregnant or breastfeeding and able to consent (i.e. not under the influence or drugs or alcohol or under duress), you can get tattooed.

All bodies are welcome in the studio. I do my best to create a safe and inclusive space for all.

We are a member of the Acon Welcome Here project, that welcomes LGBTIQ+ folk and celebrates diversity.

Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or ableism will not be tolerated. Touching without consent will not be tolerated. Inappropriate behaviour or comments will not be tolerated and could result in the client being removed from the studio and refused service.

  • I prefer to work in the black and grey dotwork style focusing on flora and fauna as well as decorative and ornamental tattoos. Having said that, I do all styles except colour realism. I do not tattoo faces or necks and may refuse finger/hand tattoos if I think the result will be less than optimal.

I do not tattoo any subject matter that could be considered cultural appropriation or that fetishises another culture or people. If you are unsure about this, please get in touch.

I do not do realism (illustrative portraits are fine) or use white highlights within black and grey work unless it is required for a coverup.

I am always open to coverups, as long as the client is going in with an open mind in regard to what can realistically be achieved. I always ask if clients have considered laser removal, even a couple of sessions can greatly increase your options for a coverup.

    • You will be sent the design the week of your appointment so you can make any changes you wish. I do this as I like to be prepared and to make sure everyone is comfortable with what is going on their body. This is a line drawing only and will not be shaded in. Please try not to show multiple friends and family, go with your gut. Too many opinions make the design process very difficult. Remember, this is your tattoo, no one else’s.

    • You will also receive a consent form in an email reminder 2 days before your appointment, please fill it out online and send it back ahead of time. This also contains the studio address.

    • Upon arrival at the studio, the artwork will be printed out in stencil form to the appropriate size.

    • The area you are getting tattooed will be shaved and cleaned with alcohol. Stencil product will be applied to your skin and the stencil pressed on. This can be done as many times as necessary to get the placement right.

    • The stencil takes around 10 minutes to dry and then tattooing can commence.

    • During the tattoo, I prefer to keep conversation to a minimum, especially during the lining process. This is so there is no unnecessary movement from either party and I can focus on getting the best result.

    • When the tattoo is complete and you have seen the result, I will ask permission to take photos and videos. If the images may be considered sensitive, I will send these to you to confirm that you are ok with them being posted (e.g. back piece that shows bottom etc).

    • I will cover your tattoo and talk you through aftercare.

You will never be asked to remove unnecessary items of clothing and will always be offered alternative coverings, if clothing must be removed. The studio also has external doors, which can be closed to block out the outside world. Consent will always be obtained before a client is touched outside of necessary tattoo practise. If you feel uncomfortable at any time or know you may feel triggered by anything, please make me aware and I will try to make accommodations to assist you.

I would ask that clients do not touch me without my consent.

  • Kin Kin, QLD is approximately halfway between Noosa and Gympie, in the Noosa Hinterland, Sunshine Coast. The address will be provided in a reminder email that is sent 2 days before your appointment.

Please note that there are no shops nearby, so it is important that you bring everything you will need for the duration of your tattoo. This includes payment (cash, card, afterpay available), food, snacks and any drinks you may want. I have a small selection of snacks and water available for clients, please help yourself at any time.

There is parking right out the front of the studio, other areas are also available if necessary or requested. Parking is at the owner’s risk.

  • The studio is fully licensed and council approved. It is a single use studio, meaning that all needles, grips, coverings, inks etc are discarded after each tattoo. All practices within the studio are compliant with QLD Health and Noosa Council regulations, ensuring it is clean and hygienic to the highest standard.

The studio has been made as sensory and neurodivergent friendly as possible. The lighting is bright, but you are welcome to wear sunglasses or request that a headlamp be used and overhead lighting will be turned off. It is encouraged that clients bring their own headphones so they can zone out and it is not necessary to maintain conversation. The music is calm and the volume is low. Most of the machines used are rotaries and therefore as quiet as possible (louder machines are used for bold line work). There are no other smells aside from the cleaning products required and they are not unnecessarily scented. If there are any accommodations that can be made to assist you in having a comfortable experience, please reach out (there is no judgement from me, being neurodivergent myself).

The studio has two small steps upon entry, the bathroom has around 6. We are currently working to make it accessible to everyone.

Please note, there is a security camera within the studio. This is for the safety of me and my client. Imagery will not be shared with anyone other than law enforcement officers if the need arises. No one is ever naked in the studio and extra coverings will always be offered.

    • Make sure to stay out of the sun leading up to your tattoo, you cannot get tattooed if you are sunburnt or peeling.

    • Do not have a big night the night before your tattoo. If you are hungover, you may not be able to get tattooed. Try and get plenty of rest.

    • Have a healthy meal the day of and be well hydrated.

    • Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area that will be tattooed. You may get ink on your clothes, which does not come out.

    • Bring healthy snacks with you.

    • Bring headphones if you wish to listen to music or watch movies on your phone.

  • A tattoo film has been placed on your tattoo. This can stay on for up to 3 days. It is breathable and waterproof. You can shower with it on but do not submerge in water.

The film may fill with blood, plasma and excess ink. This is normal and good for the healing of your tattoo.

Please remove the film straight away if it leaks or you have an allergic reaction such as redness or itching.

When you remove it, follow these steps…

    • Wash your tattoo with clean hands, warm water and mild soap

    • Pat dry with a clean paper towel.

    • Apply a very thin layer of aftercare cream. Less is more!

    • Repeat process morning and night and any time your tattoo has been exposed to bacteria, dirt, heavy sweating, or any outside elements.

Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.

DO NOT scratch or pick tattoo.

DO NOT let anyone touch your tattoo,

If you have pets that sleep in your bed, change your sheets and do not allow them in bed while your tattoo is fresh.

No swimming or prolonged submersion in water for 2 weeks.

No sunbathing or prolonged direct sunlight for 10 weeks (sunscreen and zinc can be used once the scab has come off).

Remember, a tattoo is an open wound. Failure to follow these instructions could lead to an extended healing time or infection.
